Welcome to Havelock North Scouts web page! We are part of the worldwide brotherhood of Scouting and are in the Waipu Zone of Scouts NZ.
The mission of Scouting is to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout promise and law to help build a better world where people are self- fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrXA-kDpfXk) We believe that through adventure we challenge individuals so that they learn and experience new things that enrich their lives.
Our Scout Group comprises four youth sections of boys and girls based on their school years: Keas (1-3), Cubs (4-6), Scouts (7-10), Venturers (11-13). They are supported by warrented Leaders, who are all young at heart. Our Scout hall is situated on the corner of Napier Road and Bennelong Place, in the heart of Havelock north.
To achieve the Scouting mission, we offer a range of exciting and challenging activities, including: camping, hiking, swimming, kayaking and more. We also contribute to the community through conservation and charitable activities. The youth learn cooking, first aid, bush craft, survival, arts and craft, constuction and other skills.
